Michelle Gloeckler leads the Home business for Walmart US. She and her team are responsible for great categories like Cook & Dine, Bed & Bath, Décor, Home Organization, and Outdoor Living. Responsibilities include buying, branding, product development and collaborating across functions to deliver the P&L.
Prior to her role in Home, Michelle was SVP of Merchandise Execution. In that role her team led the implementation of merchandising strategies at store level across Walmart US operations. Her team developed all communication and localized assortments for stores, including unique assortments for Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The team consisted of resources in Merchandising and Operations. In addition, the visual merchandising team (signage and fixtures) and the corresponding budget reported to Michelle.
Michelle joined Walmart in February of 2009 where she was the Vice President leading Candy, Seasonal Food Gifts, and Impulse items located at the front end for Walmart US stores.
Prior to Walmart, Michelle spent 21 years at The Hershey Company. During her time at Hershey, she held both field and home office based positions including VP positions in Sales, Marketing, and Category Development across all US retailers and Brands. Michelle was General Manager of The Hershey Experience where she led the Direct to Consumer business which included Chocolate World Visitors Center, NY & Chicago Flagship stores, Web and Catalog business, including fulfillment and call center, manufacturing as well as Product licensing.
Michelle serves in a broad array of community and industry leadership roles. Currently, she is Board Chair of The Network of Executive Women (NEW), a not-for-profit industry group with a mission of attracting, advancing and retaining women in the retail and consumer package goods industry through education and networking. Over the past 5 years, she’s served as President Elect, Chair of Sponsorship and Board Member for NEW.
She is a Board member of the NWA Komen chapter and an Advisory member of the NWA American Heart Association. She served as a Board member for United Way Capital Region for 2+ years, was honored as a Top 40 Women in Grocery by Progressive Grocer.
Michelle is a graduate of The University of Michigan. She is a regular speaker at Industry events as well as Women in Leadership events.
Michelle, her husband Scott and their two boys reside in Bentonville, AR. They enjoy sports and outdoor activities.
